Interior designer couple and their lovely urban homes

According to the New York Times, "Robert and Cortney Novogratz, who have seven children, have renovated 11 properties and lived in five of them, creating child-friendly spaces with contemporary art world touches." Looking through their portfolio, one can't deny they are talented - and how they manage to live in NYC with 7 children blows my mind (affording myself is hard enough). They also have a book deal with Rizzoli, and the entire family has signed a modeling contract with Ford. The book, Downtown Chic, will serve as a "decorating-and-renovating memoir in pictures" writes New York Times.

From my library - small space living

I thought I'd share from you some of my favorite images from one of the very first interior design books I ever purchased. It's always fun to look back!

I love these wooden floors - and the fireplace!

charming - and checkout the blue floor!

It would require a lot of tidying - but I really like the glass front pantry. Check out the mix n' match table and chairs.

I liking the look of art leaning against the wall more and more. I also really like the fuchsia carpet and the retrained fireplace decor.

I love old houses - and when a renovation includes old architectural elements I don't mind "newness" so much.

A really good way to divide spaces in a studio - this solid screen acts as a wall/headboard.

A romantic treehouse retreat...

Bathroom Renovations

Last issue of Real Simple they "renovated" three bathrooms. These renovations were purely cosmetic, so they serve as great inspiration if you're looking for a cheap way to stylishly upgrade. I think they're all a great improvement, and I especially love the wallpaper on the last one. What do you think?
