I would never pick that wallpaper, and I do not like zebra rugs, but all of these elements together are so pretty.

Brick wall and an unashamedly girly bed? Love it.

More inspiration from Greece: A private house in Tinos

Here is a gorgeous home in Cyclades, Greece, on the Island of Tinos.  The architects set out to make the home symbolic of what the island represents - day to day beauty and simplicity.

The home is 250sqm of living space with an open plan layout.  There are no cabinets, closets, or drawers in the interior, only built in nooks and niches.  I imagine this keeps the inhabitant from bringing clutter into the home and keeps the look simple and serene.

Inspiring white interiors

Used to be the pages of Decorology was always bursting with images of white interiors. While I still and probably will always love white interiors, my love of color has blossomed over time.  Nonetheless, I thought it would still be nice to pay homage to my first love, white interiors. Enjoy!

This would be such a nice bedroom for guests or a vacation home.

So pretty but with a pup and perpetually muddy backyard this white floor would always be covered in paw prints!

If I thought our current home was our forever home I would probably paint the cabinets white - because white kitchens are by far my favorite!

A stunning private paradise in Mykonos

No doubt I am hiking the rough and beautiful terrain of Crete right now, so I thought I'd leave you with a beautiful abode in nearby Mykonos.  We aren't staying anywhere this nice, but we have the landscapes for eye candy.  Enjoy!

Taking A Minimalist Approach - clean and serene spaces

Sometimes I think we forget that simple can be just as beautiful as well decorated! With things so hectic in my life with the wedding right now, it's nice to see such simple, clean spaces.  Spring is also a great time to clear out clutter - so be a little more ruthless when you empty out those closets this season.

10 Gorgeous Home Office Makeovers Office makeover from Bower Power. Benjamin Moore Palladium Blue.
This office space really inspires me to clear mine out a bit.  Less "stuff" means less distractions and therefore better focus.

I don't think minimal has to mean bare, just well edited and thought out.  It also calls more attention to the objects you do display, so they can take center stage.

Minimal also doesn't need to be white, light, or neutral. It's all about lines and your ratio of positive and negative space.

It makes me want to pick a room and see what I can do with it to make it as clean and uncluttered as the ones featured here.  Once we get back from our honeymoon - I think I will start with my office!

Feminine, glamorous interiors

Loving this pink and gold.  I don't know how much of this my sweetums would tolerate.

If only my dining room was ever this clean and serene.  It's being used as an office until Chris is finished with his masters, and promises that once he's done the table will always be clear.  Time will tell...

Book Review: House Proud by Valorie Hart

House Proud: Unique Home Design, Louisiana is like a tour of some of the state's coolest, chicest homes.

A more articulate summary can be found at Amazon, where you can purchase the book:

"Experience the joy of decor and design, restoration and rebirth, color and comfort - all in the enchanting locale of Louisiana. A New Orleans-based interior designer, Valorie Hart expertly leads a private tour of the most fashionable homes in the state. Sara Essex Bradley's photographs document the personality of Louisiana's homes, from the formal Greek revival house to the warm Creole cottage, the pre-Civil war beauty to the kitschy 50s-style ranch, the grand Victorian to the modern urban loft. This is not simply a design inspiration book, but rather a thoughtful compilation of homeowners' personal stories of restoring and redesigning their dream houses - the stories of the "house-proud."

Here are some of my favorite photos, by Sara Essex Bradley.  I think her photography style was a perfect match for this project.

I LOVE this living room. The ceiling to floor hallway/art gallery, the fawn inspired rug, and the picture hung over the bookcase. I don't know why - I'm just a sucker for that.

The cypress ceilings are original to this home.  And check out the checkered floors.  Drool.

All in all, this book is a glamorous tribute to Louisiana homes, and even if you've never been, there's plenty of eye candy to be appreciated!
