Wallpaper I Wouldn't Mind Having

The trends of wallpaper come and go but there are some styles that I feel like stick around really well and I could imagine having in my own home:

If the pattern is busy, I'd say go with a neutral color way or only one wall.

Classic patterns, like the diamonds above or the stripes below, are a surefire and chic way to go.

Going with neutral colors or a simple print like stripes is a great choice for something that can last a a long time in a home and potentially resell just fine!

Prints that seem to stick around are another option. There are always those few that don't seem to ever go out of style. Floral trellises are one example.

If you know you are going to be in the home you are in go with something you love! My suggestion would be to pick something you know you will still love years down the road, like a print you've always adored, since changing up wallpaper isn't as easy.

Inspiration: Using color in the bathroom

If you need a little change in your decor, the bathroom is a small, less intimidating space to start.  Sometimes I get my fix just by changing out my shower curtain and bath mat. Or, you could brighten up your bathroom with some color. Since most bathrooms are the least amount of square footage in a home, it's an easy weekend makeover that won't leave you regretting the time you spend.

The tiles that cover the wall behind the bathtub are from an old factory in Villeneuve les Avignon. The bathtub is from the 19th century and was found on the internet and painted bright orange. #bathroom #orange #bathtub

There are so many way's you can liven up a room. Paint, tile, curtains, rugs, wall art, and accessories are some options you can start with!

You can start small with a spot of color by painting your cabinets and accessorizing to match! Or simply choose one wall to paint if you are afraid it might be to overwhelming to paint the whole room a bright color.  I can't decide if I like this peach or not - I'd have to see the rest of the room.  I love the rug though!

Go wild with a wallpaper, stencil design, or maybe even stripes! Pick a color that makes you smile every time you walk in the room.

The antique inspired vanity, mirror, and hanging pendants combined with bright colored walls pull this tight elegant space together with some savvy style.

Can't choose one color? Find two that work great together and keep it simple with the rest of the accessories. Let the paint color be the decor..

Gray and yellow are two of my favorites.

Nervous about a big change? Stick with the accessories! You can still brighten up your bathroom and your day with a little accessorizing.

The Height of Chic: Spaces that make you say "Oh, la la!"

I had the honor this week of writing a guest post for the fabulous Julie of Belle Maison and Modern Chic Home.  Below is the post:

Every girl needs a little glam right?  Even though I work from home, I still try to put on a little make up or some gorgeous shoes from time to time. The same goes for your abode – neglect it long enough and it shows.  Even if the glam you give your home is small, it can go a long way – and you and your space will look and feel fabulous for it

A little (or big) pop of bright color in an otherwise “sensible” room screams style and class.

There are two handy tricks for making a space look luxe in this room.  The large gallery canvas adds edge and sophistication, as do the matching sconces.

A wallpaper or paint job that combines matte and gloss finishes adds instant elegance.  Even a room with basic furnishings will look stunning.

You can’t go wrong with a little touch of metallic either, like these gold dipped goblets and the table base…

A charming Edwardian-vintage

This South London home is challenging the idea of quintessential British design by mixing eclectic, modern, classic, and vintage furnishings and finds.

This might just be my favorite room so far this year.  So beautiful.

I'm always drawn to simple white bathrooms

I have no words.

I would love one of those chairs - I'd toss a chunky knit cream throw over it

oh...my dream bedroom - I love white and blue striped rugs.

Pretty curtains, pretty interiors, and a ethical company!

I was recently introduced to The Natural Curtain Company, and boy am I glad. Their site is really well done, and the styling is gorgeous.

Dreamy dining space - I love the vertical striped blinds - so airy

The curtain behind the bed is a nice idea - I still can't settle on a headboard idea - but this might work.

Sheer whites are my fav.

The way these curtains filter the light is so pretty!

Not only are these curtains lovely, the company earned accreditation from the Ethical Company Organisation which produces the Ethical Shopping Guide.

"Fabrics
The Natural Curtain Company has a careful sourcing process and uses 100% natural fabrics wherever possible. We believe that as well as being inherently more attractive, natural fabrics are ethically superior to synthetic alternatives.

Energy Conservation
Fitting a good pair of curtains is the simplest way to reduce your energy consumption. As well as offering thick, warm and interlined curtains, we also offer a thermal insulating lining which insulates your home instead of heating your neighbourhood. We also offer thermal blinds that reduce your energy consumption and carbon footprint.

The Environment
The Natural Curtain Company is environmentally aware and we strive to implement and improve measures to minimise our environmental impact, from recycling office waste to improving packaging and transport systems.

People
We really value our employees and the contribution they make to the company and to its success. We provide good working conditions and pay and, as far as possible, make sure our suppliers have the same values.

The Customer is King
Contrary to how many companies still do business, we understand that the customer pays our wages and therefore deserves our attention if there’s any kind of problem – without sitting on hold for a long time. In the event of a query or problem, we will do our very best to try to troubleshoot or remedy the situation."

They even have a really great online guide for properly measuring your windows.
