Necessary Nooks

Everyone needs a spot in their house where they can "get away" from it all. My favorite homes have little nooks and cranny's where you might not originally know what to do with the space, it may just become the perfect oasis!

Small But Efficient This is exactly what I want to do with that humongous closet (or tiny room) that is in my entryway, with the addition of a couple of wall hooks for my jacket or coat. Note: accomplished and it looks fabulous!!

A home that will truly brighten your day

I found the home of this talented lady on Flickr, and I just can't get enough. She lives in Malaysia with her sons and husband - and is obviously a very talented cook and decorator. Enjoy!

I really like this mirror. Vivaterra has a similar one from recycled boat wood.

One always needs plenty of space for books

Beautiful built-ins

I've lived in quite a few old houses and one thing I love about them are the built-in features. Bookcases, desks, window seats - they add so much charm and personality. How about you? What's your feeling on built-ins?

serene office - my desk is never that clean though - as I use it to work on... :)

I love this room. The curtains hung lower ads a lot of dimension to the room I think...

The best interior design from Architectural Digest

Architectural Digest isn't a magazine I look at very often, but I was thrilled by all inspiring interiors there were to be found in their archives. AD's portfolio covers every style one could possibly imagine, and here's just a small sample of magazine's best.

Love the chandelier and the fluffy white carpet

This is Angela Lansbury's living room!

I think the drape is such a clever way to subtly divide this space.

A pretty breakfast nook

Look at all the beautiful storage!

This room is so ethereal and gorgeous, the paint color is like terracotta

Perfect for reading and daytime naps- oh I would love it on a rainy day!

Check out the built-in bookcase in the back...

one day I must have wide-plank floors

Home Libraries you'll never want to leave

There's nothing like spending all day reading a book! It's a guilty pleasure for most of us, and an important part of the whole experience is having a cozy space to browse and curl up. Here some great home libraries I dug up...

(the following 7 images are all from Domino )

A lovely little bedside library

This is quite the serious library, but one you'd actually want to stay in and research

A well-lit table allows you to spread out several books at once

You don't have to stow away your books when you entertain, string up a curtain and you can instantly conceal them.

I love the look of art being hung on bookshelves

Do like a cat and curl up in this bright and sunny window seat.

This lovely nook situated in a bay window is all-day worthy for sure. Image from cherrycoloured.com
